I have a 360 with a fried drive, as in literally fried, with a black hole in it from something exploding.
I know someone who's really, really good at soldering though, is it possible to get an identical drive and just move over the firmware chip?
It's a Lite-On, 93450c.
Yes, the solder was there when I got it, and it worked just fine, until the red ring anyway.
Another option is fixing the traces and reconnecting stuff, I have some AWG 30 wire lying around, with coating that burns itself away when you go to solder it to something.
I would greatly appreciate any help, expecially telling me what I need to connect to what to replace what burned away...
I'm sure it's possible to do that, because I read this somewhere:
Oh, I also just found this:
"I did the same thing (plugged in the power connector upside-down) a few weeks ago. I fixed the burned traces and blown 0 ohm resistor with a wire. Could read the key and now it is even working again.
The only thing that is not fixable is when you leave it upside down for many seconds and it burns through a bigger area of the board.
You can take a good nice makro picture of the board and maybe someone can tell you what to fix and if it is still possible."

Yes, but I need to know what connects to what, though... Even just a good photo of my damaged areas on an undamaged board would be greatly appreciated.
