Hi all,
I have a lite on drive which was modded with the probe in the r707 slot, we all know the damage this has done to the laser! I have used a multimater on it a couple on times now and the laser is gone again...My question is, can I take a laser from a VAD6038benq and put it in the lite on drive, will this make any difference? or, is it best to buy a new lite on drive?

You can get a new laser off ebay pretty cheap

In order for you to replace your current dvd drive with another you have to extract the dvd key from you current dvd player

Yes. Lite-Ons and BenQs share the same laser.
