Stern's current 5-year $500 million deal expires at the end of the year. As part of the new deal, the shock jock can also be streamed via mobile/Internet apps, such as those found on the Apple iPhone and Android smartphones, alongside ... [ read the full article ]

Not available on smartphones as of today. I called Sirius Customer Service and they don't know when it will appear on the smartphone apps.

It shows how dumb the Sirius management is he is not worth that kind of money, actually to me his worth is $0. Since signing him and now becoming XM their monthly pricing is over inflated. I loved Sirius but gave them up when dippy Stern came onboard as the pricing got excessive but now that they have turned into XM and got rid of Sirius's better music format they have become worthless to me.

Does anyone still listen to the supposed shock jock? If you ask me we should shock him with 1000K volts in a grounded situation.

I listen to him. Not daily anymore, but weekly. And I think his "shock jock" days are mostly over, aside from the occasional Sybian (sp?) ride. These days Howard is less about having strippers and lesbians on the show (yes, that WAS shocking, 20 years ago, not so much these days) and more about him being one of the best interviewers in the world. He can take guests like "The Situation" and make them interesting.

These days I'm more likely to tune into XMU, Alt Nation, or Underground Garage for good music, than I am to immediately change to Howard 100. That's better than it sounds: Howard was the hook that got me to Sirius 5 years ago, but it's the unbeatable music programming (ad-free) that keeps me paying the yearly subscription rate.

Maybe one day I'll hop on the "listening to music through your phone" bandwagon and the second half of this story will matter to me. :)
