Looking into flashing my 360 in a couple days. But I haven't been able to find anywhere that says I definitely need to change the dashboard.

So basically my question is: do I need to change to a modded dashboard? and if I do where can I find them?

No. The stock dashboard is used. Flashing simply means changing the firmware on the DVD drive to allow t to read games off of recordable media. Nothing else is altered (unless you JTAG, but that's a whole different difference of modding different-ness)
