Guys I'm sorry...I have always complained on other sites that people don't read enough before they post. But, I'm just stumped here. I played the video at least 5 times on my PS3 Yes Pro and I have no herme files on the USB stick. The ONLY file I hvae is UP0001-OMAN46756_00-0000111122223333.pkg

I can't open the pkg file and the instructions don't seem to work. When I go into Atmel Flip and pick AT90USB162 I get the following error when I pick communication medium (USB Icon)

AtLibUsbDfu.dll not found. Could not load dynamic library.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm running Vista Pro and I'm certain this is my fault.

Thank you.

Hey thanks very much. I've watched that video and it was definitely a mistake by trying to use flip. I loaded the latest bin file and will try again.

I'll let you know how I make out.

GOD...my brain is fried...I've read everything on the net and here possible and just don't get it. I do know one thing, the dongle I got today only has one file and it doesn't have any issue being seen. As a matter of fact it actually says PS3 Yes Pro in the spot where you would normally see a usb stick. If someone could help out or if someone has a more laymans way of setting it up I would appreciate it.

I don't even see where I would find the video to hook up this particular dongle to the PS3. I see the regular PS3 Yes but not the Pro.

Thanks so much.

WEll if you messed around with the pro dongle using FLIP then first of all follow my vid titles Falshing Dongle for the original dongle, but when it comes to selecting the the file use the one in this http://ps3yes.com/Downloads/ps3yespro_1_0.zip

After that follow the pro video for updating payload and install the latest bin file http://ps3yes.com/Downloads/port1_hermes-evilsperm-cyberskunk-xoeo.zip

Remember when flashing the dongle on flip create a file called "enterdfu" without speech marks. then remove and plug in the dongle to your pc again. There's a bit on that in the pro vid for installing on win7 64bit.

Teh videos I have made contain all the info you need, the only thing missing is downgrading, which I cant be bothered to do yet. Just watch them all including the vids for the original dongle. I know I sound boring but the videos should be very easy to follow.

Unfortunately, none of this works. The only file I have on my PS3 Yes Pro is UP0001-OMAN46756_00-0000111122223333.pkg. I don't think I screwed it up when I used Flip because when I got to the part of the video when it says pick USB after picking AT90USB162 I get the following error:

AtLibUsbDfu.dll not found. Could not load dynamic library.

The part I get confused on which I think is my problem is "flashing the dongle on flip create a file called "enterdfu" I am running Windows Visa on a AMD Athlon 64 bit chip.

I'll keep watching but hopefully someone can explain this. On the video where it says to add the latest hermes bin I cannot even get to that part because I can't get past that could not load dynamic library error.

Thanks a lot for your help. I'll get this and help others in the future if someone can let me know what I'm doing wrong.

Thanks again!

I just watched your video on the 64 bit and a couple of things. First of all, they go way through fast and don't even show you where to go to see all of the USB ports. Second, I have no idea where to get the 64 bit firmware or what the firmware even reads. Third, my USB stick just shows up right away and it's not, not showing up like the video shows.

Do I first load the bin and enterdfu first before I flash for 64 bit? Is there a particular order I need to go in? It would be great if someone wrote a tutorial for this. I love the videos but they are in no particular order and can be confusing.

Of course it's probably just me.

all the files you need are available from the ps3yes website, on teh downloads page for the pro dongle, some thing are only on the orginal dongles download page like the 64bit drivers.

Drivers can be downloaded from http://ps3yes.com/Downloads/Flip-libusb-signed-driver.zip
extract his file and copy all the files to the usb folder of flip. Now it where flip is depends on where you installed it, default will be in program files/atmel

Quote:

What you mean by that? The list of usb devices on device manager in the video? If so thats just to show you it takes a while for the pc to detect the dongle and that at first it appears as generic usb hub. I added this because some have said their pc did not detect the dongle at all and couldnt find it to update driver.

You shouldnt have to flash teh ps3yes pro dongle at all atm, I dont know why yours isnt working with the onboard file. But if you do want to reflash the dongle then create a file called enterdfu on storage, then take out and plug dongle in again, it will enter upgrade mode after 30 seconds.
Remember to copy the 64bit drivers to teh usb folder like i said above, then open flip and flash dongle as shown in the flashing dongle video.

remove an plug dongle in again and delete the enterdfy file if you dont want it entering the upgrade mode everytime you plug it into pc.

I'm confused...it's just not working. You say to flash then on your video you say don't flash. I just tried the payload update again and can't figure it out.

The only file that came on my PS3YES Pro was UP0001-OMAN46756_00-0000111122223333.pkg.

Is this all I need to use on my PS3? Should I just purchase another brand? I'm good at computers but I'm not getting this at all.

OK lets start from the beginning.

Power off your ps3 completely and unplug the power cord.
Plug in ps3yes dongle.
Plug in power cord
Press power followed by eject.
Let ps3 load to xmb screen

Now the following can happen:
1) Red led on dongle and ps3 says unrecognised usb device detected - jailbreak failed
2) Blue led on dongle, in game xmb menu you will see 2 folders one saying /app_home/PS3_GAME and the other Install Package Files - Jailbreak worked
3) Both red and blue leds on - jailbreak failed.

So which one of these happens on your ps3 with your dongle?

Ok so I did this and I got both red and blue leds with unknown device. I did download PL Bins 01, 10, 15,21,40, and 41 onto the USB as well as entering the enterdfu on a text file. Got rid of the extension at the end.

Thanks so much for your help. Your message above was really clear. I think I can get this so please let me know. Going to head to the gym but I promise I'll follow verbatim what you say to do when you I get back.

Also, and I think this is because I have the enterdfu text on the USB but it now always wants to say "found new hardware" on my PC.

I saw that on the video and that was the part where it wanted another file I think but I couldn't make out what he was doing on the screen because it was so small. I even paused it numerous times.

Thanks again and I look forward to your response.

You can copy them if you want, the readme can be downloaded from the website as can teh backup manager. though the oman one is pretty old now so you will want to replace it anyway. It;s perfectly safe to delete the files though.

Ok once again thanks. So I just loaded it up on my PS3 exactly as you said before and still blue and red with unknown USB device. If I delete what's on it could you help me get this going?

You've spent a lot of time already and I appreciate it.

Thanks.

Nope doesn't work. Is there an easier PS3YES for morons like me?

Perhaps my device is messed up.

Hey, I think it is a virus laden Atmel Program that is causing the issue. Can someone recommend a good, safe site to download the Atmel from?

My computer slowed to a crawl and after deleting the current version it is flying again. There were numerous computer issues right after downloading the first Atmel.

I just Googled it the first time so maybe the folks at Sony are up to their old tricks.

Thanks to everyone for reading and a special thanks to Bigo for all of his help.
