Today E3DIY.net the makers of the E3 Card Reader have improved their E3 downgrader firmware, to fix some console's Blu-Ray Movie Playback problem!
Please NOTE: This is a BETA version and also is ONLY for the E3 Card Reader!
Here is the updated steps:
1: Copy "e3downgrader fix BD beta.bin" into E3 upgrader disk!
2: Insert E3 Card Reader into PS3Right-Most USB port (near BD drive).
3: Jailbreak PS3 the normal way (power then eject), after few seconds, the console will auto shutdown.
4: Remove E3 Card Reader from PS3, and reset console, it will now enter the Factory/Service mode.
5: Continue with the rest of the normal downgrading steps, using the leaked DGF.rar package.
What is the difference with old original E3downgrader firmware?
After the Power/Eject cycle with the old downgrader firmware, and most of the cloned downgrader firmwares it will continue to allow the PS3 to power-up until the full PS3 XMB menu boots-up, this was the point were the Blu-Ray Movie playback got destroyed.
With our new E3 Downgrader firmware, it cause the PS3 to switch off right away after doing the Factory/Service handshake without booting into the XMB menu, protecting the contents of your flash.
The people having bluray movies playback issues after downgrading by PS3 break or other jailbreaks, this happens because you updated to a modified PUP (psjb one) which has its /dev_flash3/ tarball swapped (probably to a debug one, debug consoles do not sport bd movies playback) with other CRL/DRL revocation files.
