Hi.

My Asus DRW-2014 which worked so great for me was KIA, so I'm looking for a new one.

This particular burner is not sold anymore, so can anyone recommend the next best alternative?

I'm using XBC.

Thanks.

i like plextor, if it burns without fail on a plextor it will work, pioneer is my second choice, but if you like asus i would recommend checking this guy out he is a lot cheaper than newegg http://cgi.ebay.com/Asus-DRW-24B1ST-SATA-24X-DVD-CD-Burner-Rewritable-Drive-/200459163182?pt=PCC_Drives_Storage_Internal&hash=item2eac4c162e#ht_6914wt_905 he has a lot of other drives, samsung is bad about burning without noticing small errors, which can cause problems with a burn.

Thanks, this DRW-24B1ST looks nice.

Does anyone has experience with this drive burning backups, and can provide some feedback?

I've never really had a problem with any burner I use, only when there dying do they mess up, but usually they work the way they should, it's weird normal disks used to corrupt with an old HP burner but XBOX 360 games never did

please if your asking about xbox 360 firmware, LT+, how to cut and solder, what drive you have and such check this PDF file

My two samsungs have never given me any trouble in the least. The first one is like 4 or more years old and it can still burn dual layers no problem

I'm asking this question actually, because back then (2-3 years ago), there were drives which weren't able to change the book type.

For example, my own drive (Asus re-brand), had to be re-flashed to DRW-2014, to support this.

Shoot, any new drive should have zero issues. My dell's laptop drive burns just as good as my asus or nec drive.
