A Game Stop employee on Neogaf has posted that the giant retailer is taking pre-orders for the upcoming Nintendo 3DS handheld, but only in brick-and-mortar locations. omg i have been holding out hope for ocarina of time on the ds. even though they say it is 3d it had better work on my dsl i don't give a crap about 3d.

I'm not a hand held gamer or owner of a ds or anything but I really want to see this thing in action. A glasses free held held device and its used for gaming. Sounds like Nintendo is doing a really good job and holding the kid market in some seriously tight shackles! Hopefully tv makers will start making glass free hd tv because I can never see myself wasting money on a 3D tv requiring glasses.

Even though you can turn off the 3D effect on 3DS games on a 3DS, they still will not work on a DS or DSi.

the 3DS has some major diffs in hardware, the screen resolution is much higher, and they finally have an analog control as well.... the 3DS is basically a new system.

However the 3DS will still work with DS and DSware games including DSi games that require the camera, the 3DS will not attempt to add any kind of 3D features to the DS games of course.

It is a little disappointing, I love the screen size of the DSiXL and don't know if I can go back to the smaller screen as I am an old man... however I am sure after a few reiterations of the 3DS they will come out with a 3DSxl and I will be all over that...
