Microsoft ending Windows 7 Family Pack next week

Amazon has said this weekend that Microsoft will end sales of the 3-license Windows 7 'Family Packs' at the end of the year.
Microsoft began offering the packs in October, saying it was for a "limited-time only."
Amazon's Family Pack page now says: "Available to purchase until December 31, or while supplies last."
Microsoft priced the 3-license pack at $150, but Amazon is selling it for $125.

that's ok, my Windows 7 Matey Pack allows me to install windows 7 on any machine as many times as i please with no restriction. with a MSRP Of 0.00USD is was Steal, literally.

If you hate Microsoft (sorry, Microshaft) so much, why do you continue to use it when there are many other options available?

If you hate Microsoft (sorry, Microshaft) so much, why do you continue to use it when there are many other options available?
Gaming. if they didn't have a monopoly on Direct X i would have jumped ship along time ago. Granted you can Run DirectX threw WINE with the games but the overhead is too taxing and the time it takes to set it up is just Astronomical. So unless we see Major Games like and BFBC2 getting an openGL port, Windows will continue to hold gaming by the throat.
i don't hate Microsoft, i hate the direction there taking everything they do anymore is a monopoly endeavor, and is usually ill executed and planed. Just like there rival Crapple.
Linux is Fine for me but for the average user not so much, i find myself hardcoding in drivers for ALSA and Some Drivers For KDX and Icebox more often than i like. not something your average user would know how to do.

I have to agree with you fully on this DXR88, sorry about that, I won't let that happen again. LOL
It's too bad that MS is doing this, what is next family packs for Office too, which is way to expensive otherwise?

they already have they did it with the 03 an 2000 Editions,about the same time the figured out that they could make more money with server editions by selling it Per seat. instead of per certificate.
it's why you see alot of businesses running 2000 server in conjunction with 2000 pro/XP, Or Unix.
i still have my school credentials and if i really felt like it i could buy Office for like 50 bucks same with windows.
Open Office was the best thing to happen to windows since SkiFree, which i admit may have caused damage in the occipital lobe.

I was addressing Office 2010 not 2003 and you can still get "Microsoft Office Home and Business 2010" for $135 (3 user), "Microsoft Office Home and Student 2010" for $90 (3 user), and "Microsoft Office Professional Academic 2010" for $85 (3 user). But for student/teacher discount to $50 I would jump on that I've been thinking of picking up some classes myself and would take advantage of that deal.
Google Search
I too love Star Office/OpenOffice for Windows or Linux they are almost 100% compatible, almost, I do loose some functions that I use in MS Office. I've installed this for some of the people I know but not all can comprehend the differences so it doesn't work in all cases. If you are an intermediate computer user, or higher, it's a no-brainer to use Open Office.
