From users experience [dvdrhelp.com]:
Quote:
This DVD Recorder is found in TOSHIBA (and SONY) notebooks. Suspect that once I stick with reliable blank media, that I will be very happy with the drive. Still some testing required, so I am giving the drive a lower rating for now.

TEST RESULTS:
Toshiba 2450 Notebook
DVD Decrypter
DVD2ONE
NERO 5.5.10.15
PRASSI PRIMODVD 2.0
2 VIVASTAR "noname" DVD-R 1X
1 RITEK "noname" DVD-R 1X
1 VERBATIM DVD-RW

Both VIVASTAR DVD-Rs are coasters. The burns completed successfully, but pixelate and lock up less than half way through. (Movies: SHR*K, M*MMYR*T*RNS)

The RITEK DVD-R is perfect; burns and plays back on Standalone TOSHIBA, NORCENT, and on PC DVD-ROM. (Movie: M*MMYR*T*RNS)

The VERBATIM DVD-RW burns successfully but only plays back in its entirety on PC DVD-ROM. Locks on TOSHIBA standalone (as expected), but also locked on NORCENT (UN-expected!!). (Movie: SHR*K)
Always make sure you use good media ... I use Ritek G04 DVD-R myself [and maybe check for latest firmware for your drive].
