hi all new to all this just got a ps3 with a hdmi cable have an xbox but never used hdmi cable before just the 3 coloured plugs ..but when i plug my ps3 into my tv with hdmi
i get static during the game i noticed this when i was setting my ps3 up when i was scrolling through the menus it was making static nosies which i taught was strange and
quite annoying i taught this was some kind of sound that sony wanted for the menu screen
but relised when i put the game on that this was not the case as it was a problem
i taught that it might be a problem with the ps3 but when i tried it on the xbox it was the same..can anybody help me please cause its driving me fecking crazy i tried to go back to the old 3 coloured plugs with the ps3 but the system seems to keep reverting back to the hdmi option agghhh help!!!!!! sorry meant to say tv is samsung and wall mounted so can only get to hdmi port on the side

If you're getting the same issue when plugging it into the Xbox 360, you probably have a bad HDMI cable. I had a bad cable once, that I just bought for cheap on eBay, and decided to get a higher quality one, and it's been working great since.

I buy my cables from MonoPrice. They offer high quality cables for a good price. I think my HDMI cost about $6, and I've never had issues with it.

I'd recommend the cable here. It's the same one I got; it's a flat cable, so the wiring inside is harder to mush.

So I would try a different cable. Hope that helps!
