M2TS and MKV Media File Question...

I have a Windows Media Server setup and use my PS3 to utilize my various videos, music and pics on my network shares. When it comes to MP3, JPGs and AVI files - I have no problems whatsoever. The setup works great. My only issue is that I have a Sony HD video camera that outputs the digital content to an M2TS format. From what I have read, the PS3 will play these. I used the tsMuxeR utility to verify that the source files are using the H.264 and AC3 codecs, but my PS3 does not even see the folder or files within the directory structure. Is there a special way that I need to present this data to the PS3?
