What the difference cause I have Nero 6.0 and when I just want to copy data I use the Udf feature and I think ISO is when it take a picture (CD image)of the stuff you want to copy to cd, but I accidentaly used that ISO feature and It didn't take a picture of it, it actully copyed the software and I could access the file I copied directly from cd. What other cd file system are like that and what is the difference of UDF and ISO.

UDF and ISO are two different file systems. You should be using ISO for everything because it is readable by computers everywhere. UDF is not.
UDF is a newer format that allows you to have files that are gargantuan in size. You should use it when you have files over 2 gig (which cannot be burned in the ISO #### file system such as renderings). However, UDF does not work on all OS's/Computers, and it shouldn't be used unless necessary.

ISO is an acronym for International Standards Organization. The organization whose members (The Manufacturer's Representative of the Industry) governs all standards for creating writing on Media.
There are many ISO standards one of them which is in use by all since a few years is the 9660 Level 1 -- it applies to all conventional writing methods; at the beginning of a media a TOC (Table of content) is first written to it.This serves as a catalogue for the O/S to recuperate the data when required.Changes can be made to that media and a new TOC is written each time till the media is declared full. Upon closing that writing session, the media becomes written and cannot be written again as the last TOC locks the writing.
UDF is an acronym for Universal Disk Format . It uses a different method of writing ; packets of data are place on the media and can be directly assessed because at the head of each packet is the information on the file it represents including its length (which, of course, implies where the next packet begins).There is now a closing TOC needed.
This UDF process as been brought on mainly for erasable media (RW) and is not commonly used on others.
So best use the ISO 9660 format for your writing on media that is non rewritable. Should you want to use RW media you can use either Format. A RW disk done in UDF only can be read by another computer;most newer O/S have the UDF reader module incorporated.

Using hp dvd writer dvd200i ... firm ware and all updates I could find for the writer installed. before the Blue Screen. using Nero 6 program HP's DLA would not install.
WinXp p sp1 (and 2 now) thought that might help. What else could I do?

SP2 for Windows Xp is not out ! The version you are using is a BETA version put out by Microsoft for testing purposes. You should uninstall that !
BSOD are usually cause by software conflicts ! Have you tried doing a System Restore to an earlier date ?

XP SP2 is out! It is only currently available to those who have previously installed a beta version of SP2. Everyone else has to wait till the end of the month and then there will be a limit on the number of people who can get SP2 at any time so that the servers will not be overloaded.

I see you have Nero as the burning software !!
Do you have or did you have Roxio's Easy CD Creator installed on your Pc ?
This looks like a conflict created by Roxio's Easy CD Creator or an uninstall that didnt remove it totally.

Just got this from hp if anyone else is having same like probs.
I understand that you are experiencing an error every time you try to
run a movie.
There could be many causes for the issue. It would be appropriate if we
troubleshoot the issue to find out the real cause.
It could be possible that the system is running at virtual and system
memory. Perform the following troubleshooting steps:
1. Right-click on MY COMPUTER
2. Click on PROPERTIES
3. Click on the ADVANCED tab
4. Click on the SETTINGS button in the PERFORMANCE section
5. Click on the ADVANCED tab
6. Click on the CHANGE button
7. Select SYSTEM MANAGED SIZE
8. Click on the SET button
9. Click on OK
10. Close all the following windows by clicking OK
11. Restart your PC
Delete your Temporary files:
1) Double click on the My Computer icon.
2) Double click on your C: drive.
3) Double click on the Windows folder.
4) Double click on the Temp folder.
5) Go to the Edit menu and select All.
6) Go to the File menu and select Delete.
7) Click on Yes.
Delete your Temporary Internet files:
1) Double click on the My Computer icon.
2) Double click on your C: drive.
3) Double click on the Windows folder.
4) Double click on the Temporary Internet Files folder.
5) Go to the Edit menu and select All.
6) Go to the File menu and select Delete.
7) Click on Yes.
They, recommend you to perform clean boot in windows XP \
