My Xbox 360 and a real burning issue?

Hi
I am currently trying to burn Xbox 360 games, and to be honest I am getting frustrated with it. First of all, my Elite system has the Benq VAD6038 dvd drive in it, and my system was flashed by a reputable company ghost2fitters in 2007, the flash is V1.41
At the moment this is also a banned xbox, though I am not interested in that anyway, however I still want to be able to burn my own games.
I am using good quality media, Verbatim DVD+R DL, I am also using imgburn, and have also checked files with abgx360 GUI, and I am still getting coasters????wtf
I pop them into my 360 after I have had the tune of success from imgburn, and eagerly await for the game to start, and it states it is reading, and quickly goes off, and open tray comes up, and that is it.
What am I doing wrong?
I have read a lot of information regarding this, and have tried to be patient, but I know we all get a little confused with all the techno around this issue.

Hi after dawn folks,
I thought I would just give you folks, a little update as to what is happening now with my xbox 360 Elite system, I turned it on, this Friday, and you will never guess what I saw on the console, one rrod in the lower right of the console, I knew straight away that on the television there would be an error E74, and this is so frustrating and blooming annoying, so I began to look at all the different tutorials on the internet, and the majority of these are on youtube, but you know I did try a couple of quick fixes. Namely the three towel trick, but then I read somewhere else that this can be really bad for your xbox in the long run, but anyhow I thought I would give it a whirl, though it did not work at all. I also tried the two Q tips tricks, put into the back of the console to hopefully stop the fans spinning and this would in turn give the console the two RRODs in the left habd side of the console, however none of these so called quick fixes have worked for me at all, so I began sourcing the internet for a fix and came across, the following X clamp kit, that has tons of very good reviews regarding this bit of kit.

I just wonder if anyone on AD, has used this tool, and do you reckon it is any good.

Hi people,
I thought I would update people on afterdawn regarding the querie I posted about an RROD fix for my xbox 360 elite system, I waited for some one to answer my querie, but as I waited, I thought I would make an important decision and decided to purchase the team executor RROD pro 2 kit, which is a fantastic piece of kit, it took just over a day to arrive at my house, and I have just successfully made my xbox 360 elite system work fully again, the tutorial over at team executor's site was very informative indeed, and the tut took you through every single step, at first I had to mess abouyt quite a bit, but kept trying and trying, and repeating the initial steps, and trying to sort out the problem that I was having and I retook my motherboard back out of the xbox and re tighten the nuts on the underside of the motherboard, so sorted that out, and tried again to connect the power cable and the AV cable into the system, and awaited for two red lights to come on the xbox, and as soon as this happened, I turned off the xbox, and then the remaining step was to attach the fan cable to the motherbaord, and then leave the unit off for five minutes, and then try and power up the unit again, and wow this time I was successful, my elite system is now bqack up and running fully with no troubles at all.
My advice is that if you are witnessing any rrod issues whatsoever, the n all you need to do is buy the RROD kit from the above link and try this out for yourself, it is one of the most clever pieces of kit, and also remember team executor are the real team.

make sure imgburn is setting the layerbreak to 1913760, this happened to me as imgburn wasnt doing it,

i'm just guessing that if your 360 still has the 1.41 firmware and you are trying to burn new games then that is most likely your problem, the xbox needs to be flashed to the most current FW even if you dont care about playing online, if you have updated your dashboard then even some of the newer games that may have worked before will no longer work, like fable 111.

of course if your older games are not working either you laser may be dirty or going out. this is also a possibility.

Thanks for your reply, I have gone into imgburn settings, and copy/pasted the number, (and saved the settings) you have put down for me to try and solve the issue. I am hoping this will work, but we shall see when I get the time.
Thanks to the other members that have tried to give me info as well, it is important we all learn and every little bit of info, can only he helpful.
Just to give a little more info, ghost2fitters did state that their firmware versions only last 12 months, so could be due to the firmware???

More information for you, I did change the settings in imgburn to 1913760, and I tried to burn the game again, and still got nothing at all.

Hi peluynati,
I thank you for your response.
I have sent a message to ghost2fitters regarding the flashing to see if they think this could be the problem, I shall await their reply and go from there.
Another point I would like to make is that all my other games are working fine in my xbox elite system, almost all of my xbox 360 games are purchased, when they go down in price, I only have a small amount that I have burned myself, and have never had any trouble with them at all.

I had this problem with an old 360. It originally had a samsung drive in it that crapped out. I replaced the drive with a benq. The benq worked fine until LT became available. I always got the open tray whenever I inserted a backup. I grabbed another parts 360, and it had a samsung in it. I flashed the drive including the dvdkey to it, and it magically started working again with backups. I'm not sure if it had to do with spoofing the original drive or not, but when I put a samsung back in it, that did the trick.

I would have to think it's the firmware being old and the wave issues. Before LT came out the wave mattered and the firmware would need to be updated. I would think LT+ 1.1 or patching the games to a lower wave would make it work.

interesting info you have put there, I understand where you are coming from, but I received a reply from ghost2fitter, and they have explained it to me regarding the new games that are coming out and they say if I want I can go for this service.
Out Of Warranty LT+ V1.1 Reflash Service and they will do the flashing service for me, which will be back at my house in a day or so, that is a great service. I sent two xbox 360's to them originally to be flashed, and I have not had a problem since they were done, so I trust them, once again thanks for your input.
btw I do have two older xbox systems, one is the premium, the other is the Elite system, and I do not want to start swapping out the dvd drives :-)
