Are you certain that this movie actually has an english language audio track?
Did you rip the original commercial disk?

Demux the movie with PgcDEmux.
Play the ac3 files to figure out the english track.
Mux the movie back together using MuxMan, using only the english audio.

should all of these steps happen before or after the transfer from PAL - NTSC because i wonder if that is causing a problem?

If you demux the original files then mux it will still be PAL.
Assuming the new files play ok on the PC, run IfoEDit and burn the new disk.

about to try this demux, but i wanted to give you an update.

1. i used PGCEdit > highlighted the lagest file > Edit PGC > Disabled Audio VOB Stream 1 (french 0x80) > OK > File > Save IFO's as.

2. Then used VLC Media Player to check the playback language. It began in french until i went into Audio > Audio Track > highlighted track number 2. Track 1 was originally highlighted and was playing the movie in French while Track 2 played it in English. i stopped there and havent done anything further. Waiting for your directions.

Do i continue to try to use pdcdemux? If not, will the movie burn and play in english or is there something else i must do first?

I don't think your getting it.
Nothing gets disabled.
Assuming you have two audio tracks French and English
If the French (fr) has id 0x80 and the English (en) is 0x81, you interchange the id's, so that English is now 0x80 and the French is 0x81, OK and Save.
At that point if you open the DVD with VLC, the English should play.

and what do you do if they are reversed French (fr) is 0x81 and English (en) is 0x80? I would assume that you havent to do anything, correct? Or do you still reverse them?

You mean it still isn't working???

Can you get a copy of the IFO file (might be VTS_01_0.IFO) zip and upload it to a file share like MediaFire so I can look at it.
It's the IFO file associated with the VOB's containing the main Title.
