Despite 300,000 Android devices being activated daily, only 0.4 percent of all users are running version 2.3 Gingerbread, the latest upgrade to the mobile operating system. I got sick of waiting on 2.2 for my Ally so I just rooted and put Velocity 0.4 on it. No complaints though, its a good phone.

And its more likely that these figures are based on handsets produced and official updates... however most owners of 2.1 and below have probably rooted and loaded a non official update from xda devs so they are also probably completely in-accurate.
