I'm just wondering if i need to use a SATA PCI-E card to connect my disc drive to the computer. (I have SATA ports on my motherboard)

I've opened the xbox 360 and have found out that I have

Rom Version.: 0079FL

Also I've been using Youtube a lot for viewing people flashing there drives and some of them have the power connected to a little card and then into molex? do i need to do this or can i use the xbox's power to power the drive?

Thanks to all that respond.

I'm thinking of following this guide.

If anyone else has used it and had good results please post saying so ^_^

So I have downloaded iXtreme LT+ v1.1 for Hitachi GDR-3120L I put this into the firmware folder of Jungleflash..and then I'm right to go?

ryuu00, that is a good guide to follow. i've used it myself for the same type of drive you have and it was very easy and works great.

Ok I can see the drive in Bios but i can't get slax to do anything. I boot up slax 2.1 and it runs through the text but it never shows me "spinning up disc" that it dose in the video. it skips straight to the Login screen.

Here is what i believe to be the drive.

All fixed, I moved the drive to the number 1 sata port and it picked it up in slax got to mode B and flashed, too easy.
