Ok i have hacked the ps3 with a couple differnet back up managers but i have ran into some problems
1. Netflix does not work anymore. it goes to the netflix loading screen then back to the xmb.
2. I have an 80bg hd internal and i am down to about 2 gb left so i deleted a bunch of stuff but when i go to my system settings and then to ps3 information it still shows that i have 2 gb left. wtf? any help please thanks

How did you hack your ps3, did you use a usb jailbreak on 3.41, or are you running a custom firmware?

Sounds like your gonna need to restore and do a kmeaw. Or just restart your ps3 and see if that helps the gb info, i dunno bout the netflix part.

i have custom firmware 3.55
i dont care about the netflix but the ps3 will not play any games if you have no memory on your harddrive. i have an 1 tb external i am going to hook up this week but i am unsure if that will solve the problem. i am also thinking i should back up all my files to the external and then wipe my system and reinstall my custom firm ware any ideas

Sounds like a good idea to back up your information and just reformat the drive since the ps3 is pretty bad with house cleaning. So install OFW firmware from recovery and then kmeaw after that.

the problem with reinstalling the hack is that i paid for it and i am not sure he will do it again unless i pay for it and i don't want to fork out the money again. i am not bad i could probably find out how to do it myself but i would need some major help finding the files. i did my psp and my wii myself but i have been having trouble finding the right guide that is simple enough for me. lol
thanks for your help

Been having a few problems and looking for some help..
I installed kmeaws 3.55 CFW and lv2 pkg v6 (I have the right md5) patch. I'm currently using rogeros manager 7.8 and I've been able to backup some of my owned games and play off the hdd.
Other than that, I haven't been able to run any ftp or blackbox or hpr.. either I get the error code or I get put back into xmb. also tried ftping from my pc to ps3 using filezilla but i get a connection refused error..
currently running a slim 120gb.
any help will be greatly appreciated.

In theory, all you would need to do is to do a backup and then use the drive format utility...it would get you some space, but not much. Instead, what you have to do is to download Kmeaw 3.55 and put it on a flash drive, then backup everything that you can from the PS3 to the flash drive. Turn off the PS3, remove the hard drive, and connect it to a PC (it connects to most desktops internally; you can usually just borrow the connectors going to the DVD drive...if you have a laptop, you will need a USB enclosure instead). Once the drive is connected to a PC, format it with NTFS, then reinstall it in the PS3. When you turn the system on, you will see instructions for reflashing right on the screen.
...OR...
Backup everything and put the firmware on the USB drive, then go and buy a new drive...they are not very expensive, and 80GB is a joke, even for a non-JB system. The best GB per dollar ratio is usually on 500GB or 750GB drives...500GB should be more than enough. You don't have to worry about connecting it to a PC if you do this; just screw it into that little carrier that the stock drive has attached, and slide it into the PS3...when you turn the system on, you will get the same reflashing instructions.

WTF how much did you pay the guy to do it? This is way easier and faster than modding the wii.
Back up your stuff throught ftp and just use the format option in the system setting.
OR the very long way lol.
Anyways here is a video to show you how to get into recovery mode. In your case you would have to choose option 3.
Here is a mirror link to the OFW firmware 3.55. That you need to put into a a usb drive formatted in fat32 inside you will need a folder called PS3 another folder inside that folder called UPDATE and you place the OFW in there.
Here is a mirror link to the kmeaw firmware.
And here you can find the latest Gaia manager and rogero manager. The rest you can find on your own.

Dude, you seriously dont need to pay anyone for this. Its the easiest hack since keygens and cracks. Trust me, its baby stuff. Heres a tutorial so you can start learning the ups and downs.

If i were you id do what the other guys and I have told you, which is back up your stuff and just restore fresh and then do a Kmeaw.
