i just got my 107. Installed it and sjit.

Now i burn a dvd with nero.1 on 1 copy. When i use my aopen dvd rom as source i cant klick the "burn" icon in nero. When i use the 107 as source and destination it does work...strange:s....

the other thing is. I burn at 4X speed and it takes like 35 minutes...is that normal??

Seems that you have "on the fly" checked

Well if you are reading and writing from the 107 then it does seem reasonable :) Even considering a 50-50 split read/write time, that even seems on the fast side of things

Seems like a straight DVD-DVD copy much like we did with CDs.

Ahh... That would be why its taking 35minutes to burn...

I rarely do a CD to CD or DVD to DVD copy.
I usually copy to the HDD then burn.

If you are doing Disc to Disc copy, dont use 'On The Fly' option... If you do, make sure that u clean the disc before trying it.

If you put the DVD Disc u want to copy in the DVD-ROM, and Blank in DVD-RW, Change the source drive to the DVD-ROM, Click Burn... That doesnt work?

What kind of backups are we talking here? Data? Movies? In either case, Nero is definitely not suited for the task and I would reccommend other things (depending on what you are trying to backup)

Try uninstalling both drives through Device Manager then reboot and let windows detect and reinstall them.
