Catholic Church approves confession iOS app

article published on 9 February, 2011

The Roman Catholic Church has approved of a new iOS app, one that it hopes will bring "modern" Catholics back to their faith. The app will give downloaders a "personalized examination of conscience for each user." iApps, the company behind the app says (via Huff): Our desire is to invite Catholics to engage in their faith through digital technology. Why would it be a sin? It is encouraged; why else would priests be barred from marriage? No, avoiding walking under a ladder...that is a sin. Or believing something from the bible when the church says otherwise...that is a big sin. Raping children? Not only is it acceptable, but they will do everything they can to protect you from prosecution. Now that the church does not start wars, does not torture people to death, and does not extort money from the poor, all they have left is child rape and the spread of disease and poverty through their anti-condom crusades.

Um, actually, the Catholic Church recently came out in support for using condoms, expressly to avoid the spread of disease. Might wanna brush up a bit before ya rage.

Um...the catholic church spent the last 90 years doing everything they could to prevent condom use...a few months of saying, "nevermind" while their anti-condom programs are still in effect means nothing.

Oh, so YOU get to be the arbiter of change, eh? lol

I, for one, am at most a "Deist", so I'm no kneejerk Catholic-apologist. You are, however, eventually going to have to let go of your sour juice and let OTHERS change, especially if the change is one that you've apparently desired for a long time.

In other words: Get over it. If you don't like the Catholics' beliefs, don't be Catholic. Save your vitriol for those completely refusing all change, such as *cough* Evangelicals.

So its not ok to talk politics here but it's ok to blast religions here?

I know this news is about talking to GOD digitally but this topic can turn very ugly.

I would ask the admins or mods to close this thread.
