I rip the dvd with smartripper 2.41 which seems to go fine but, during the playback it switches from english to French i have no idea why? This happens as a chapter change occurs. The first few chapters go fine. I am new at this so i hope at put this on right board.

you could disable the french audio. I had the same problem, only it was director's commentary, took it out, no problem. This was only on one dvd, you didn't specify whether it happens all the time or just this one dvd.
