I LoL'd when I read that...every smart phone has email, another form of email that does not work with other devices is not helping anyone.

RIM thinks they can do well selling cheap phones because they know they cannot compete selling good phones, that is the only reason for the switch. It would be bad enough just fighting android...but if someone wants a closed system with crummy hardware, they will get the iPhone4, not some blackberry.
