Depends on which country you are in, I am in the UK and go shopping at the following:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk
http://www.blankdiscshop.co.uk
http://www.ebuyer.com

And would recommend a Pioneer or possibly Sony

...............PIO is no go, DMA all the way...............
Beware of the Pixies - they move in over night and turn your life upside down

Everything I buy that's PC related comes from here:

http://www.newegg.com/index.asp?DEPA=1

Keep in mind that the cheapest burners aren't always the best investment. Pioneer is great and Lite-On makes some good drives that are pretty easy on the wallet.

My killer sig came courtesy of bb "El Jefe" mayo.

I like www.bottomdollar.com- they give you a choice of about 10-20 different stores and they rate the stores. I will say newegg seems to be in the top 5 everytime.

Nephilim makes a good point, better to spend 100 than 40 if you're buying crap. I think the Lite On SOHW-812S, which is a dual burner goes for around 70.00, that's a good price for a decent drive. Spend the extra 30.00 or you may end up buying an expensive paperweight. You can get the PX 708A for around 140.00 with a 30.00 rebate leaving a cost of 110.00. Like flip says you can get deals on slightly used ones(for reviews and such) on ebay. Be careful when buying on ebay, write the seller and ask questions before you bid, and look it up on the net to see what it's true value is. I myself just bought a new Plextor burner and I listened to the guys on this forum(what's a good DVD burner to buy) before i bought. They know what they're talking about.
