Nintendo 3DS has best launch for company handheld, ever

Nintendo has said today that the 3DS handheld has sold extremely well since launch Sunday in the United States.
The company says launch day sales were "the highest of any Nintendo hand-held system in our history."
Although they did not reveal specific numbers, they confirmed that numbers would be available on April 14th, when NPD shows off the figures.

I think this is due to great PR and putting quality work and games in the DS. This shows that portables don't need a phone function to be successful.

I would buy one if I had the money. I only want one because its new, just like the psp and Ipod, none of witch I have. Black screen of death, wouldn't that mean it was dead, cause everything I've read about it says a simple reboot fixed it...

Just get a 360 and get it over and done with, hand held gaming died with the PSP after sony wanted to be ass wipes with geo. i loved the PSP but Sony will never have my support. FUCK Sony!!!! in their monkey brains too

I don't understand the resentment for particular brands... What do you get really? NOTHING. Go ahead and hate them all you like, it's not like the end of the world.
I've tried the 3DS in the stores, the 3D is not all that spectacular. It's pretty much like looking at the 3D slipcovers on those 3D movies.

urgh at all these morons that dont own a 3ds & are tryin to put it down. iv got 1 i got it coz i played it in store n had to order 1 after. with the quality of the ds games i had to order the next gen 1. the only thing i can hate on is anti piracy on nintendo n sonys part, i mean it just pisses me off in general readin that shit tht it might be bricked if a flash cart is inserted. but the systems good & will only get better. handheld gaming is good. simple as. haters gonna hate but get off your call of duty for a few hours n buy a 3ds n chill play tht shit in bed, its good simple as that.

^ Different people different opinions... I tried one at the store and I didn't particularly find it irresistible, especially at $250. Oh, I had hard time reading your post and I don't really care about spelling and stuff.
