Ok im a newbie, and really confused about all the lingo for recording dvds. same thing with programs that do this and that. could someone explain what all these mean???
also, i thought dvd x copy platinum was the "dvd copying for dummies". that thing is a pain in the ass. ive tried the dvd shrink but it wont even let me get to pick a file off my comp. it wont even list them when i go to search...hmmm
im willing to pay money for a reliable program that does "everything in one" so to speak. i have home videos and short films off my comp id like to get on dvd. and no, vcd quality is not acceptable.

XCopy Platinum is for backing up dvd movies.

Get Nero 6 Ultra

There are different ways of burning... most depends on the format you have your files in.
Well, for backing up dvd's, I personally use DVD Shrink combined with Nero. For putting files that are on your computer on a DVD, I would use what flip218 said, Nero 6 Ultra. These two programs have worked great for me so far. I started out using DVDXCOPY Plat., and still have it, I just use these two programs now and have much more success with them. Good luck, and let us know how it goes!
Rule 12 indeed, zjmedia -- virtually every single one of your posts has been to advertise that blasted WinAVI stuff ... you wanna advertise? Visit http://www.afterdawn.com/general/adprices.cfm
