comScore has posted their latest figures today for the mobile market, and Android is now the dominate smartphone operating system in the U.S. Samsung was the top handset maker, with 24.8 percent share of the market. What's interesting is that we've probably reached the smartphone saturation point at current prices in the US. If manufacturers want to expand the smartphone base and get people to buy lucrative apps (where all the real money is), they're gonna have to start making cheaper smartphones.

We should start seeing some really nice new smartphones at the $150 and even $100 price points.

Here in India we get really good smart phones for half the price going in US. Currently one model supporting dual sim cards and DLP based projector supplied with an extra battery and an external charger sells for about US$ 200/=

The best part is this works with sim from absolutely every service provider!

When is the US consumer going to wake up and demand value for money?

I've gotten phones such as Sprint Evo, Verizon droid incredible, Verizon Droid 2, iphone,for around $150 mint condition. Just look on Craigslist! Those dual sim phones, and projection phones sound pretty sweet! What make are they pmshah?
