According to Jeffries analyst Peter Misek, the upcoming iPhone will be called the "iPhone 4S," not the "iPhone 5" as anticipated.
The device will be released in September, adds the analyst, citing "industry checks."
Perhaps more notably, Misek says Apple will expand the smartphone to Sprint, T-Mobile and China Mobile, making it available to hundreds of millions of more potential customers.

The only way I would even think about getting this and retiring my Tmobile Samsung Vibrant would be if it had 64gb of internal memory. I doubt it will, it will have 32gb with no expansion which Apple is famous for, besides Apple is so anti-mass storage device anyways, I'll talk my way out of owning it for sure anyways.

Wonder if they will do that. No offense to my wife but I get the better phone.
Didnt they just say on the article that it was going to be on T-Mobile, Sprint and China Mobile? Nothing said about it being on AT&T.
Actually the article said EXPANDED to T-Mobile, Sprint, & China Mobile. Meaning that AT&T and Verizon alread have the iPhone and will get the new one.
I wonder if they will still sell out on launch day. If it doesn't have LTE, idk why anyone would commit 2 years to that. It really can't compete with the higher end android smartphones if its still running 3G

Zeus, I gotta ask, what is the point of having an iPhone with 2G/Edge..no matter what carrier you are on, the speeds are horrendous. (I am T-Mobile G2 owner )

Well I used to be on AT&T and upon switching to T-Mo with a nearly identical plan the cost was about $40 less. So I had to ask myself is the difference in 3G and Edge data speed worth $40 per month? I said no and accepted the Edge speed. $40 is enough to pay for home internet service. I'm around a Wi-Fi connection the majority of the time anyway. AT&T was horrible for customer service and dropped calls too.
I've tried and owned the G2 and MyTouch 4G before but realized that I just don't like the Android OS as much as iOS. Though the data speed is beginning to become frustrating in some areas. If this rumor isn't true and T-Mo doesn't get the iPhone this year, I'll probably just break down and get the Samsung Galaxy S2.
I was hoping for this. I am on the Sprint network and I was wondering when Apple will go after this market. I am not a fan boy, but there are apps that I would like, but I do not want to leave Sprint. Good deal
