okay so I'm a little unclear about the possible redemption process is it going to be 2 games for every console owner or 2 games for every username on the machine? logistically every console owner regardless of how many names (max i think is seven to being with) are on the console but right now they're looking to kiss butt right now... if i hadn't rooted/jailbroken/hacked my psp i'd love to own little big planet... besides is psn even up? how can you download the said free games if psn isn't up yet?

PSN is up, the Playstation Store AFAIK isn't.
Correct. Reportedly it is to come back this Tuesday.
Originally posted by Mysttic: My god this list was deliberate and you people applause it. They picked their top selling line up of what may as well be launch titles for PS3. Those that liked it enough own it already, those that beat it either rented it or sold it. They deliberately chose this not as to say thank you to their customers but to save as much on their bottom line as they can because they know damn well the lawsuits across all nations are going to screw them over.
To top it off their security over PSN and Sony's servers has not improved an inch. So all these users that fall into *Sony being nice* tactic is STILL getting screwed over if they simply go back to trusting Sony with their information. This is the lamest apology since Apple got forced into providing free cases for the iphone 4.
What would have been a better example of an apology is to let the user select 2 greatest hits games OR 1 recent released game of their choosing. Now that would be a great start to an apology. And skip the crap that PSN users don't deserve an apology, they do even if users don't understand why, Sony understands why.
Last I give it two weeks tops after the store gets back online before Sony gets hacked again to prove a point, that their security FAILS. This isn't being negative, this is just stating they been hit attack after attack in the last 3 weeks, and this is far from over. They still don't even have a clue who's behind it, or what motivates the attack. So enjoy PSN while you can, but soon even these piss ant old titles won't be enough to satisfy the rage of another month downtime that likely will be coming soon.
OK, if Sony offers any games other than those made by Sony, they'll be getting lawsuits from all of the companies that they offered the game for free, face it no company wants to give out their game for free, and this is not their top selling line, this is specifically Sony's top selling games, and its a good line. And to say Sony didn't change their security at all is just pathetic. What else would they be doing for the one month it was shut off? If you don't know how networking works I suggest you don't even try to touch that topic, as I can't say too much about it myself. All I have to say is Sony handled this situation properly and I bet Microsoft wouldn't even come 1% close to how Sony handled this if this were to happen to the XBL.
