Hello, my name is daniel and im quite a newbie in dvd ripping. i doubt anyone can help me but i have a lg dvd burner that ive been using.
problem: im using dvd shrink and its working like a charm, thank you for the guide... but after i burn it using nero (because the dvd shrink burning software doesnt even make the movie start), i play about half of ice age and at chapter 12... it stops... COMPLETELY! I try analyze that and half way thru... it stops... COMPLETELY! FFFFUUUUUUUCCCCKKKKKK!
i read sum answers in the forums and the closest info i got was bcoz i got poor quality cds. keep in mind that the movy works PERFECT until bout half way thru... if you can help, you can answer me here or on my email: d_an_iel14@yahoo.com.au

Ok, to start with it is a really bad idea to post your email address in any forum. People will pick it up and you will get spam from Hell. Just something I thought you should know. You might want to edit your post and take that off of there.
Ok, Let me ask what type of media you are using and what brand? Are you playing this DVD in your set top player, your computer, or both? Does the original disc play past chapter 12? Have you tried jumping chapters to chapter 13 in the main menu?

thanks 4 the advice about the email & FOR HELPIN ME OUT.
i have a dvd burner, a dvd rom and 2 hdd so all my primary and slave slots r taken up!
sory, i dnt undastand about wat u mean bout media. i use DVD Shrink for ripping, Nero for burn and blazedvd for watchin.
yes, the original disk does play past chapter 12.
i ripped 6 movies that night, and analyze that, ice age and texas chainsaw mass dnt work, the rest: recruit, catch me if u can, fat pizza... all work.
one dvd rom doesnt play ANY RIPPED DVDS but plays originals... the lg burner plays wateva i put in there!

The DVD you burn what media do you use?
If you run the DVD movie image off your hard disk you can see whether your original image goes past chapter 12. If the hard disk image does then it is highly likely that you are using shite media.
Try the movies on your DVD Writer and see if they play the whole movie on that. Satisfy my curiosity, how big is the final image of the movie, if it is 4.35 GB then it is more than likely a media compatibility problem.

Media is the disc's you are using. First off, are you using DVD's or CD's you said both in your post. If you are using a CD you may have just run out of room and that is all you have. You want DVD's in the proper format for your burner. You should start with good media, trust me it will save you headaches and money, (Ritek G-04 or Verbatim are almost always perfect and are highly recomended on this forum). Buy a small pack or a single DVD-RW (this is a rewritable disc versus a write once disc)in whatever format is compatible (that means either (- or +), these are more expensive but work good to get you started, you can write over these if you goof it up or if there is a problem if it turns out ok then you can do a disc copy to a non rewritable and you are off to the races. Will your player play Non comercial discs? Do you also have your copy of DVD Decrypter?

Now you've said 3 movies work and 3 don't. Same question what type of media(blank dvd's) are you using? Are they the same brand and format? Could you post your system specs, give us more options for suggestions :)

hello there, itz that useless dude agen,
im such a dumbass, 'media' meant the bloody blank dvds... i use a brand call...wait for it... LASER! hahahahahaaaa! my dad bought it 4 me at sumthing like $18 for 25!
thank u so much for the response... i run a 2.7ghz cpu, 80g hdd & a 20 hdd, 256 mb video, 512 ram, sb live 16 sound card.
i followed ur advice and found that the image that is ripped on the hdd works perfectly so i blamed it on Nero 6.0.0.19. so downloaded 6.3.1.15 but havent tried it out yet.
my dvd writer is on secondary master so my dvd rom is reading as f: (dvd writer is reading as e:)
thank u once agen so much but all in all, i shud get beta dvdr's!?!?!?!????
iv got this porn on cd and i need a program that can extract the file that is on the cd coz its scratchd to shithouse. i tried IsoBuster but that aint workin either.
help the rookie, i can help anyone with problems about game cracking... eye for and eye.

You need much better media. Save yourself time and money buy Ritek G-04 "Branded" or Verbatim discs. Trust me that solves a lot of problems.

thanx agen,
i downloaded Nero 6.3.1.15 and im getting the same 'burning process failed' at the end of the session. i get out of Nero, put the dvdr back in the drive and the movie works fine... i pretty much sure that it's the dvdr brand?!?
where can i get the dvdrs that were suggested? im in perth W.australia so if anyone out there can tell which store i can get it from, or the internet, it wud be of much help.
i mentioned previously also that i doubted anyone can help me... god i was wrong, u all a bunch of genius's man damn!
