Microsoft has confirmed that it will be killing off support for Windows Mobile 6.x phones starting on July 15th.
Developers can still create apps for the WM6 marketplace and users will be able to download them forever, or until the marketplace is shut down.
Those same developers are angry however, as Microsoft pulling support of the devices leaves little reason for users to download ... [ read the full article ]

"Some have questioned the move as recent data suggests WM6 is still selling better than new Windows Phone 7 devices, at least in the last quarter." Wow windows Phone 7 is doing this badly lol, probably because of the very stupid name.
Might as wel kill off WP7 too while they're at it. I have no idea where the hell they think they're going with it, they had too many chances to impress and always dissapointed. (first initial announcement, CES, MWC)

My thoughts exactly...they need to kill off:
-Microsoft office (except Excel; it is still better than openoffice in some small ways)
-Windows Server (seriously...windows for a server?)
-Windows Mobile (including windows 8 desktop edition)
-Windows Ultimate (they never release the add-ons that they promised would make Ultimate something other than pro with a higher price tag)
-Internet Exploiter
-Security Essentials
-Expression
-Sharepoint server
-SQL server
-Dynamics
-All microsoft-branded PC hardware
-Forefront Security Suites
-The xbox360 (to be replaced by something that isn't an outdated joke)

Mike M., I totally agree. It seems like Microsoft abandons support for older versions of all their products when they come out with something new. Windows 7 should have been a free upgrade! I am sick of Microsoft.
