i have a tdk 4x burner.you can only use 4x rated media.i wanted to know with alll the new 8x burners can you use 4x rated media since thats all most major retailers carry.

You shouldn't have any problem using 4X media in an 8X burner. My Plextor PX-708A 8X burner has never had 8X media in it; all I use is 4X.
