According to BGR, who leaked details of an upcoming Nexus device last month, the phone may be called "Nexus Prime" and be manufactured by Samsung.
The smartphone will be the first to run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, which should mix the best aspects of Android 2.3 Gingerbread, Android 3.0 Honeycomb and Google TV.

Soft keys are actually pretty great if done correctly like with Cyanogen Mod 7 has done it and I'm sure Android 4.0 will have something better.

I don't know I just like the ability to physically click something. Like how are users suppose to know if their phone is definitely off if there isn't a single button they can press without turning it back on? That was a must in my exam period, or it woulda cost me loads!!
But on that note, how did they do it? Because obviously that's to do with software and not hardware..
I want google to release more information on ice cream sandwich. Hopefully they will give users to ability to actually end and close out applications instead of their task manager closing it whenever it feels the need to. Also they really need to implement some security in it so we can lock text messages and pictures.

There is no need to end or close out apps. Using a task manager on a regular basis is NOT a good thing to do. In the end you waste more battery power and waste cpu doing this. Why? Because chances are when you do this, depending on the app, many are designed to simply relaunch themselves. Therefore this takes more CPU power relaunching all these apps then it does if you were to leave them alone and let them run in memory like they were designed.
As for the security measures, there are apps that can do this, and there is of course androids built in passcode system which locks users out of the phone if they do not know the passcode.
Xplorer4 - Tell me how to close the built in Android music player. It hogs battery power even if I've paused the music and exited to the main menu (my phone is significantly hotter all day if this is in memory). No options in the menu to close it. The only way I can kill it is with a task manager. Seems I have a handful of apps that just want to hang out in memory (chewing CPU) that I have to use the task manager to kill that don't restart themselves. I tried Winamp, but I'll be damned if I can find the option to just shuffle every song on my phone.
I can easily set my task manager not to close tasks that I know are just going to restart themselves.

WHAT soft keys in CM7??
CM7 for my gTablet has soft keys..maybe the version for your device doesnt? No clue man
