Finnish phone buying habits hurting Nokia innovation?

article published on 27 June, 2011

When Finns buy a new phone, they love it long time! Finland is a country of about five million people, so you really couldn't blame the population for much of Nokia's problems directly. Nokia innovation hindered by the frequency of the mobile phone replacements by its users seems bizarre. Today technical expertise has reached global market and not constrained to a local requirements. The trial and release attitude of the smart phone giant Apple has won appreciation world over! Elops must have his aim to be a stiff competitor to Jobs and plan a innovative strategy to earn the Nokia reputation that it had during its reigning days.

Finland is a country of about 5,381,282 people. Not 4 million. (yes, even children as young as 6 can have cell phones here)

Edit: forgot to mention that most people have several phones, not just one. And I don't know why people should be changing phones every 2-3 years. Isn't it better if (Nokia) everyone makes products that last and not a piles of **** that you have to replace every now and then. I'm all for new technology and stuffs but slapping a little bit better screen and some wi-fi on a previous model (cough*iphone*cough) isn't progress in my book.

My mistake on population, but otherwise "relax," I wasn't trying to insult your country or anything, just posting the details of some research conducted by another firm...
