Netflix has announced today that it has separated its DVD and streaming services, which means if you want both, the price just increased substantially.
1-DVD-at-time unlimited plans will cost $7.99 per month, the cheapest it has ever been, but if you want unlimited streaming you will need to pay an additional $7.99.
Currently, a 1-DVD plus unlimited streaming plan costs just $9.99.

NO!....it's not. Please read the FINE PRINT, as the 'unlimited' is really a tiered offer. Unlimited 1 at a time is not my idea of unlimited. I'm baling ship as soon as my current month is over. I loved the streaming, despite the buffering issues with a fast connection. I knew this day was coming

Going on month four without Netfux.
Don't need it or their low quality streaming crap.
Jeff
dude, I literally laughed out loud. Netfux, haha!
Yeah, these guys are following the Blockbuster method. Changing the rules for existing members. No one is grandfathered in anymore. If your going to change the rules make it effective for new customers. This is why I dropped blockbuster. I got rid of Netfux months ago when I started spending my dough on Redbox. F them. Consumers really need to believe that companies NEED customers, not the other way around.
Their streaming selection is garbage anyway. I literally get the shakes when browsing the low-budget amateur movies they offer.
Well, I just checked out the BlockBuster deal....it's going to take 5-6 days to get my first two DVDs and 3-4 days JUST TO SHIP (meaning, that doesn't count the transit time from my mailbox to BlockBuster's distribution centers) for every DVD after that...?
Netflix DVDs have a 2-day turn around from the time they leave my mailbox to the time another one is delivered. I'll just stick with Netflix 3 DVD service and cancel streaming.
Man, the movie rental industry has completely gown down the $hitter! Then they wonder why pirating is at an all-time high...?
Hmm, I tried blockbuster once upon a time. Their shipping hub closest to me was ~180miles away. It averaged 2 days to them, and 2 days to me. But getting the new releases was trying. Although I may have figured out the loophole. I only gave them a shot, because they had a dvd that netflix did not. Haven't had the need to try them again. Guess I'm loyal to netflix. Though I really don't like the one month delay on some of the new releases ;) Which is where the local video store comes in handy ;)
