can someone please tell me the difference from these two: Why is one more expensive then the other?

Ritek DVD-R 4.7G 4X 50PACK, Model DRD-47-4X-RDSM, OEM $42.99
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=17-132-315&depa=0

RIDATA DVD+R 4.7GB 4X, Model DRD+474-RDCB50, OEM
$32.99
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=17-132-343&depa=0

In addition, i found legacy DVD-R for 23$ 50 pack on newegg, are those any good with the nec-2500a ?
Thanks

The one thing that I see is the conformity standards are different. I did not take the time to look at the differences in those standards, but I would bet others visiting this site may know what that means.

Uh, easy one.

One is dvd-r while the other is dvd+r. IMHO -r is better (besides being less expensive) if your burner is compatible with them.

Also I think they are cheaper, with free shipping as well, from supermediastore.com. I'm a repeat customer there a few times over and I've never been disappointed.

there is not much difference, but you must use the one your burner is designed for (unless you have a duel format burner).

I am sorry but i posted the wrong link. There is a DVD-R for $32.00 as well.

So what is the difference with this one and the other DVD-R that is more expensive?

One has a model number that contains SM - I think this probably stands for Silver Matte. The other I'm not sure of, but as it is more expensive, it may be a printable variety. That is all I can think that would be different. The descriptions of the products do leave a lot to be desired!

For whatever reason, I swear, the link you posted after the line above is the one I saw. But I could not have, or the conformity standards would have both been the same.

Maybe I imagined it. I get all of my blank DVD's from newegg.

Here's an excellent link that gives a better understanding of media. This should clear up all questions on DVD media.
