The new cuts are part of a broader plan to "focus on areas that offer the highest growth opportunities."
If that isn't the biggest load of elitist tripe... So few words & yet perfectly contradictory in the same breath. Corporate guile at its best. So conceited & condescending and yet in the public forum; they simply can't help themselves.
With the cuts, RIM will eliminate redundancies and reallocate the funds to areas that offer "the highest growth opportunity" in RIM's new plans.
Although I'm unfairly quoting the article, I can't help but reflect on how corporations have already been behaving & feel that even though this comment may be true, it is greatly askew. I mean we are talking about 2000 folks here, so exactly what's growing? I would say a couple of undeserved bonus packages & an idiotic investment portfolio.
I've already commented elsewhere about history repeating itself, so redundancy is a waste, but spin (lies) about what's going on (now on a global scale, not just the US) is going to pitch the world into something horrible & we need to be prepared as people to not allow our governing bodies to do something equally as stupid as what these companies are doing.
There is a weirdness brewing & you can see it echoed in peoples behavior within political parties & public demonstrations. Equally scarey is that our governing officials (who used to ignore these individuals) are now entertaining them.
We're not quite at a breaking point yet & when we are I hope it's for the better. If there is a glimmer of hope in all this gloom I would like to think this current noise is just the paranoia of the baby-boomers unwillingness going nappy time into retirement, but that's still a 3-5 year wait before the full effect take place.
