Used tmpgenc 2.5 for 2 years w/no problems. Had to redownload dvd2avi 1.76 and since am getting "judging field order" and before it starts to encode, at the bottom of the page " Processing inverse telecine" which makes any encode a lot longer than before. Is dvd2avi causing this problem or ?? Appreciate any ideas. Thanks.

Have several versions downloaded, the last is 2.521.58.169 and all versions are doing the same thing. Wouldn't be so bad except it adds another 30-40 minutes to the encode time. Thanks for the reply. Maybe someone else has run into this problem.

If you are Backing up a NTSC DVD then you should enable the "Forced Film" option in DVD2AVI, this will Remove the 3:2 Pulldown Flags(Inverse Telicline) and make your Source 23.976fps Progressive as opposed to 29.97fps interlaced and this will also get rid on the "Judging Field order" message when loading your File into the TMPGEnc WiZard ...You will have to encode with 3:2 Pulldown enabled or "23.976fps(29.976fps Internal)" setting, If you are useing a SVCD/DVD template then it will set this automaticly, or you can encode as 23,976fps and then use something like "DoPulldown" to add the 3:2 Pulldown flags and Make it 29.976fps,...Cheers
