According to a new study from Dr. J. Lennert Veerman of the University of Queensland, watching TV will likely contribute to a shortened lifespan.
The study found that anyone who averaged six hours of TV watching per day, lived, on average, 5 years less than a person who did not watch any TV.
After the age of 25, every 30 minutes spent watching TV decreased lifespan by 22 minutes.

Be sure to wear your tinfoil hat so the 2.4 GHz non-ionizing radiation does not give you brain tumors. ;)

Ah crap...I watch TV while I work out...4-5 hours of it a day. I better stop watching TV and just sit on the couch eating burgers and playing video games.

Funny..
I take the front wheel off my road bicycle, put it on the trainer, the remote in one of the water bottle slots then watch TV or a DVD. Oh forgot about the box fan to blow air on me.
Guess I am a dead man riding.

Only if you watch TV trying to impress the ladies with a shaved chest and pumped up with Steroids.
Prerequisites.. You must have at least one Gold chain and have roots in New Jersey.
Jack LaLanne said, people who work out to the point of harming their bodies is overkill. 1/2 hour per day will keep you healthy. He dies at the ripe old age of 97.

My neighbor died at 26, right after he got home from his morning jog. My uncle died at 37, in the middle of his morning stretches. They both stuck to about 1/2 hour a day, first thing in the morning. Maybe the key is to do it before bed instead.

when you wake up in the morning there's always a 50% chance that your next rest will last an eternity.

each persons body is different.im on the tv or computer a lot but i dont sit here pigging out on food while im on the computer or watching tv.if i sat on the lounge eating junk food for 5hours a day i'd have a shorter lifespan tv or no tv.I know a couple of people that rarely watch tv and spending countless hours at the gym and diet they are always sick.i smoke 20cigarettes a day rarely work out and i hardly ever get sick.im 27 and i dont plan on dying, i also know im not gonna die anytime soon.

It's not TV, it's inactivity.
If you sit around barely moving all day taking no exercise you're most likely (but not 100% guaranteed in every instance, life does have its exceptions, just like the 80yr old+ 40-a-day smokers) heading for an early grave.
......and too much poor quality fatty foods (esp trans fats apparently) & crap quality air etc is never going to do you much good either.
(and just for us techy guys I'm convinced one day it'll be discovered that it's really not a great idea to be surrounding ourselves with radio waves as many of us do in the modern home)
