According to Forrester Research, Amazon could sell 5 million of its still unconfirmed tablet in the Q4, making it a viable competitor to Apple and the iPad.
When the tablet is eventually launched, it is expected to sell for $299 or even $199, well below Apple's base price of $499.

Seems to me Amazon has a better grasp of not only catering to human greed, but also keeping it in check by nickel & diming the human condition into believing they're getting a good deal.
A staunch contrast to Apple's "screw them hard from the get-go & continue the pressure even after they have screamed defeat".
I would almost go so far as to say that Amazon is almost taking the consumer out on a date... You know, dinner & a movie... then the consumer gets to be desert.

The specs don't really matter as long as they are in-line with other current tablets. The iPad showed us this is true. The average Joe cares about Internet access, a camera, the amount of apps available, and weight. THAT'S IT.
Yeah, I kinda agree with DVDB here.. If they hit the $299 price point they will sell well, almost regardless of specs.
If they hit the $199 price point they will sell like crazy.
I would add one thing that customers will care about. The screen size.
The 7" screen tabs won't sell as well. It should be 9" or 10"

The Average Joe cares more about price and pay less for it !
The Techie cares more about Specs !
The Idiots cares more about a Logo !
