I guessing $20,000+ Turns out I was a bit off, but not by much; according to the source below Toshiba will be selling the 55" in Germany by December for about 8000 EUR.

I bid 10,001!

It is about time we saw this (pardon the pun). I guess they are running out of people who are dumb enough to pay for a new overpriced TV and the glasses when they can't even watch a short movie without stopping twice to prevent eyestrain.

My worry is that the 3D aspect of this TV will cause similar eyestrain to that of the 3DS. If that is the case, I wont be able to enjoy the aspect of glasses free 3D. Still you are right, better than glasses.

Looks more like an unveiling of a bunch of photoshopped promo images.

To be fair its really hard to capture 3D image on a 2D camera to show the world lol. But this is the best pic I could find so far:

Here is also a copy of Toshiba's press release PDF: so enjoy.

This looks freaking sweet, though I will bet the US version strips out the recording feature, or records in 480i.

1.) It costs more than a PSP, or even a 360.
2.) You have to hold it in a specific spot relative to your eyes to get 3D.
3.) It has motion controls that require you to move the system (and presumably your head as well if you don't want 3D to kick out).
