Hi Everyone.

I'm new to the forum and this is my first posting so koala bare with me :)

A friend has lent me some old VCD tv shows transferred from VCR format. There are 27 VCD discs all up and I'm attempting to convert them to DVD to squeeze more episodes onto fewer discs for convenience.

I'm running an AMD Athlon 2.8 processor with a Radeon 9200 graphics card and a LiteOn DVD -/+ CD Re-writer combo.

The software I'm using for the conversion are TMPGEnc, SSRC and tooLame and I've read and followed the instructions outlined in the Guide section entitled "How to put VCDs onto DVD" (http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/vcd_to_dvd-r.cfm).

Everytime I attempt to demux the DAT files from the VCD discs into their m1v and mp2 files, the audio comes out fine but the video comes out choppy. By choppy, I mean the video stops and starts at regular 1 second intervals.

At first I thought it might be a buffer issue with the drive so I copied the DAT file to the hard drive and attempted to demux the file straight from the hard drive but same result. Still comes out choppy.

Am I missing something here or do I have to adjust a setting? Why isn't the video coming out smooth like it should be when I watch it on the DVD player?

Any opinion or advice would be greatly appreciated ASAP as I have to return the discs to him soon.
