"Meanwhile, work continues on CyanogenMod for the TouchPad, as a recently released video shows. "
Thank you, I was thinking this would still be up in the air. I am hopping to pick up one of the HPs when the next shipments come through and I was worried development has completely halted.

"Are you kidding me!" it's all "OPEN SOURCE" as in free!

Andriod Open Source

"Android is an open-source software stack for mobile devices, and a corresponding open-source project led by Google. We created Android in response to our own experiences launching mobile apps. We wanted to make sure that there was no central point of failure, so that no industry player can restrict or control the innovations of any other. That's why we created Android, and made its source code open." - Andriod Open Source website.

Since it's all free any way CM didn't "Steal" anything, Google gave and continues to give it to the world. If you have any gripes about having to root your phone so it can be truly open then talk to your carrier or device manufacturer.
