I thought the 3DS was their only rival? It is the only thing at a similar price point.

There were two people out of my entire hs class that had ps3's. I'm surprised Sony sold that many ps3's. Personally I prefer the xbox controller over Sony classic style. Although, there are a few exclusives I'd like to try but I wouldnt pay 400 bucks for em.

Pay $400 for what? The console + the 3 games? Also, Nintendo needs to get it together.

The PS3 160GB system is $250, the 4GB 360 with Kinect is $300. PS3 has Blu-ray, Xbox 360 has an arguably better catalog and can be hacked. All matter of preference at this point.

The PS3 is hacked too...just not as completely.
I thought the 360 was down to $150...at least that is what I saw in a few banner adds. I figured that price was about right...then I checked amazon and I was ROFL. $300 for the base model, almost $600 for the 120GB model...you could get a pair of PS3s...a 160GB and a 320GB, for less than $20 more than a single 360 120GB.

I found em used for as little as $80 for first gen, so I picked that up. New it's still a bit pricey. For what consumers pay for these consoles tho, most of them have a PC so if they have a quad core CPU just spend $200 for an ATI HD 6xxx series, and chances are you running everything better than either consoles for less than the cost of them new. *Pending on RAM/CPU speeds of course*
If you love 360 controller that much by the dongle to use on PC. Done, there's your new 360.

Killerbug
It is $199/$299 (for the 4gb/250gb without coupons, offers or bundles) without Kinnect.
It goes to $299/$399 (same no discounting price) with Kinnect.
No one else has anything quite like Kinnect, can't say as I've tried it myself but I know several people with it & they reckon it is cool as f*** and a lot of fun.
BTW if I was wanting one I would hold off buying just yet, there is rumour of a price-cut coming soon.
Personally I would like the Kinnect's voice & gesture control of my media, I'm just waiting on the sensor to get a little less expensive.
I'm also looking forward to the new Star Wars/Gears bundled machine's bigger 320gb hard drive coming out as a buyable component
(load more of my games to the hard drive, it's so much better, usually faster & quieter.....almost silent)
