Kara Swisher has reported today that former eBay CEO Meg Whitman will be named the new CEO of HP. Current CEO Leo Apotheker will be fired after just 11 months on the job. I completely disagree with both of you. Meg Whitman is recognized by her peers as one of the most successful CEO's of the last decade. She has her work cut out for her with HP, but she is probably their last and best hope.

Quite an attractive thing to put on a resume. I don't understand why they don't just fire these people after the first devastating screw up, instead of waiting for them to damage the company beyond repair.
