I've tried deep analysis, shrinking files extracted by decryptor and smart rippier, and directly from the disc. I keep getting an error when shrinking my project using shrink. My system is Windows 98se my processor speed is 600mghz and I have tried different Hardware acceleration speeds. Shrink does small projects just fine. On all large (shrinkable ) projects that I have tried, it gets almost to the end then puts a dagger in my heart with a terminating error message. The file is left with about 4,1xx megabytes.

Is my system the culprit? Is there something else I should try?

Windows 98 uses a FAT 32 file system which has a 4GB (4096MB) file size limit, that will cause problems when working with ISO's. That means you should not set the Target Device to ISO Disc Image or if you do you will have to set a Custom Target DVD size in the Preferences of 4090MB.

If you set the Target Device to Hard Disk Folder or your DVD Burner like when Nero is used to burn you will not have this problem.

If you want to use full size ISO Disc Image files greater than 4GB you will have to upgrade to Windows XP or 2000 which will allow you to use a NTFS file system.

There is a program that works with DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter on FAT 32 drives called AutoShrinkISO. It makes split ISO files that will fit on that type of drive.

Thank you. Your answer seems right to my problem. I will be able to use my new knowledge on my own computer later on today. I do have a question. I own and run Roxio, it came with my burner, but am only doing a trial version of Nero. If I lose Nero, will I be able to burn a movie saving to hard disk using Roxio? Maybe I will change the target size of the image. In any case, I will report. Thank you very much!!!

Will Nero Express do? I have an older version, above 5.5 pretty certain but only the Express worked with any CD Burner and not only the one that Nero was packaged with. Should that work with my DVD burner? I've seen different prices on the internet and I'm not anxious to spend a lot of money, especially if I already have what I need.
