There is not too much else to be said that Apple has not said in their statement.
Jobs was forced to resign in August as CEO of the company he founded as his health deteriorated. He was diagnosed in 2003 with a rare form of pancreatic cancer and took leave from work again in 2009 for a liver transplant.
We will have more in the coming week on Job's innovation and his contribution ... [ read the full article ]

Will leave the comments open here until someone undoubtedly ruins it.
My thoughts on the man should be abundantly clear. He was one of the best businessmen of all time and understood perfectly what the majority wanted in a device, be it smartphone, computer, etc.

R.I.P Steve.... pancreatic cancer takes yet another victim.
I remember when Randy Pausch testified to a Senate Committee about pancreatic cancer. He said he wished he had AIDS instead, as then he'd have had a chance to live for much longer than he did after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
Sad day when Randy died, and a sad day again now!

I don't like Apple's ways. Still you can't deny he has a lot to do with the way the world is connected today.
You don't hear much about Steve Wozniak who co-founded Apple with Ronald Wayne and Jobs.
Scary we are the same age.

It wont be instant, but there is a strong chance. Even yesterday with the 4GS, there was no "magic" in Tim's presentation. When it was finished, there wasn't the usual "OMG I NEED IT" attitude that normally comes after a Steve Jobs event.

I hate Steve Jobs and how that my iPhone does not support Flash and how I still receive drop calls on my iPhone 4 and the quick fix was to hold the phone differently as he blamed us users for improperly using the phone.
I also hate every time there is a firmware update, my phone is no longer Jailbroken and it goes back to a regular locked firmware, even though it is my given right and not against the law to Jailbreak my iPhone.
With all that said and the amount of frustrating or anger I have, I still don't wish death on anyone and at a young age. God bless you and hope you are at peace now as you cross the gates... take care.

Definitely a visionary and an extraordinary businessman. Besides, love it or hate it, Apple is basically in every corner you look at: iPhones, iPads, iPods, Macs...Apple Stores...And Steve was the one who had the courage and intelligence to push Apple to where it is today. People hate Apple for various reasons, but the fact remains that Steve did a great job at making his company famous and he did innovate a lot during the last few years.

While I LOATHE Apple in its entirety as well as being distinguished by the way he and the company treated their consumers, he (like so many have said) was a businessman who was there to make money and he certainly did that. Its good in the world of tech to have competition. Apple has helped push tech forward by rivaling long standing tech companies and forcing them to "stay on their toes." For this, I am greatful to him. I still detest him as a person, but I respect him as a businessman, as well feel sorry for how he had to die. I hope after this long and tough battle he has faced. He can finally now Rest In Peace.
