What is a good DVD+R Media for PS2 backup?
Besides online [such as Ritek], is there any good DVD+R Media to buy at stores such brand Verbatim?

My friend has a DVD+RW Burner [and didn't order DVD-R Burner when he's ordering his computer] and cannot burn DVD-R [Ritek is pretty good for DVD-R]. So he could only burn DVD+R in order for him to play backup PS2 games.

P.S. He has PS2 V7, and he could play DVD-R PS2 backups.

Ritek is the best, either for DVD+R or DVD-R.

Your best source for PS2 & Xbox backups and modded systems:

Regarding PS2:
Haven't tried games yet, but I have to agree with sly...

Memorex +/- both play back-ups of my DVDs.
Maxell +/- also play back-ups of my DVDs.

Good Luck

Question, So is it possible to play backed up ps2 games from DVD+R's? I Dont have a DVD-R burner only a DVD+R burner and im afraid i dont know if i can play a backed up DVD+R on a chipped ps2.

Is it up to the modchip? cause (Just in case this is important) I have a V5/V6 Didnt really go into figuring it out since i saw a V5/V6 No Solder Mod Chip on the modchip site and well i dont want to send my ps2 to get soldered since i wont trust anyone with it. And im not crazy enough to try to solder it on my own!! I Dont mind swapping discs as long as it plays backed up games... I Dont treat my DVD's well at all.. They r bound to get scratched to hell from neglect sooner or later

It all depends on the version. V1-4 is only good with DVD-R [Ritek is far best by runnerups]. I am NOT sure if it is possible with V5-8 [and V9 + V10] to play DVD+R on PS2.

It does not matter [to my knownledge] if your PS2 is modded or "swappable". It really all depends on your PS2 version.

If you do not want to solder, than I suggest Magic Swap Disc. But first you must find out about your PS2 version. This is so because there are two types of Magic Swap: V1-8 discs and V9 + 10 [and some couple ther versions] discs. PM me on how to get your PS2 version + which disc to buy.

I have a + burner and ALL my games work fine. I use Ritek G04 dye dvd's. They cost me £12 for 25 which ends up at 45p each which im not complaining about! I have a v7 ps2 with the flip top and swap magic and they all work fine and never freeze.

Which One Today?
