New optional Firefox comes with default Awesome Bar, Bing

In 2010, Mozilla added Bing as a search option when launching Firefox for the first time.
Before that, Google was the default option.
Today, Mozilla has introduced a new version of Firefox that comes with Bing as default and includes the Bing Awesome Bar.

Bing and Awesome shouldn't be allowed in the same sentence. Bing is just about worthless IMO. I wonder how much Microsoft ponied up for this?

Do people actually use Bing for anything?
I just used the "Manage search engines." Disabled Bing, Amazon, Ebay and Yahoo.

no....just no.....what the hell is bing ?
now all those i recommend FF, and now they have a microsoft search engine built in.....what the hell are they playing at....imgaine them integrating in the future *shudders* IE with FF ?
FF just shot itself in the foot.

The only time I've ever seen Bing used is when someone on the television show I'm watching does a search online.

It helps to read the article. For now, atleast, it is a separate add on. So for right now, it is not built in. Even when, I would guess, it does become built in to firefox, it will likley come as an option during install. You really need to take a chill pill guy.
Anyways, I have only used bing one time. It didn't seem all to bad really, but it wasnt enough to lure me away from google either.

Actually, it now comes with the "awesome bar"...something that I consider to be malware. This might explain why after the latest automatic update, FireFox started using bing for the incorrect address page instead of google. Makes me sick...I think I'll give Chrome another chance.

Ah....that's better. Don't worry Mozilla...I'll be back as soon as Chrome pulls some s**t like this.

LOL! And here I thought I was the only one not using Bing. I suspected it was something new, and trendy. I think I tried it once, once upon a time, and didn't see the benefit. Google, and my habits will suffice thank you very much! LOL!
Firefox really should concentrate on their browser, and not stupid add-on's. I think the best version was in the early 3.-- versions. And now we're at version 7! What happened to 5 and 6 :S
I had to switch to chrome earlier just to load a job listings page. Often, when I click links that open in a new tab, it loads for multiple seconds as "Blank". If I drag the link to new tab, it goes quicker. Sounds like a coding problem to me LOL! Not that I'd be any better :p

I used Firefox for years and loved it. With each new release it gets worse and worse. I went back to IE when the Google bar stopped being supported (Yes I know there's a workaround, but that won't last forever.) Now Bing!? Really.
I always hated IE but I have to admit the latest version is not bad. Adios Firefox.

Switched to Chrome a while back...it's got it's problems, but Mozilla is in a downward spiral as of late. Can't stand the slowness.

I still love Firefox, Firefox 3.6 that is. I will keep using it for as long as it continues to work or until one of the others puts out something better. Chrome is getting close, but until they have a normal bookmark button that I don't have to hover over or wait for, it's not quite ready for primetime to me.

All that does is open up the book marks in general. I have thousands of bookmarks and each level of nested folders you have to hover on to get to the next. By the time I can get to one I'm looking for, the different levels cover the whole screen and I have lost 30 seconds more of my life. In Firefox 3 it takes all of 2 or 3 seconds and the folders stay open to how I left them. All the new browsers seem to have forgot the most important rule which is "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

You're misunderstanding that statement. What it means is, during initial startup of the program, bing is available. Firefox essentially has a plugin right from the get go...
