In a slide presented during their Q3 earnings call, Asus disclosed plans to release a tablet running Windows 8 in Q3 of next year. Windows 8 features a completely new UI called Metro which is intended to make it more tablet friendly. Wow! Someone's going to release a Windows 8 device when Windows 8 is complete??? Shocking! ;-)

Microsoft isn't paying them tons of money to do so like they are w/ WP7, are they?

Nah, they just want to produce and produce them all. Give the customers an array of choices.
