Hi all,
I am using DVD X Copy Platinum with Memorex DVD+R discs and I'm having a problem with playback on my Samsung DVD Player.

Any suggestions? I heard on TechLive that some companies are outfitting their burnable discs with security and that one way around this is to use a permanent marker around the edge of some cds to bypass the security.

Or, what's the deal with my discs? Player?

Thanks,
dibley

I would first try different media. I've never had good luck with memorex. I like using Verbatim 2.4x +R or TDK 4x +R. You can also check your samsungs compatibility here http://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers . Also what version of Platinum are you using?

Checked out several different media. My DVD player isn't listed on that website so I could not verify media.

DVD X Platinum v. 3.21

Any ideas would be welcome. I would be happy to try different methods of "backing up" if you all have a good idea regarding a....

Rhymes with "tripper".....

thanks again

what model is your samsung? Is it an old model? I have an old RCA and it ruins any burned movie.

Yes you can try out other programs. DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter (both free). Do you have Nero?

DVD-M301 from Samsung. I'm reading mixed media reviews regarding the +/- RW.

Going to try DVD Shrink and Roxio 6. Too bad I bought a 25 spindle of Memorex.

Here's my point on the topic.

DVD X Copy is EASY to use. However, my media can't be read.

Would you recommend doing an SVCD or VCD onto a CD-R? If so, which program is the easiest to use.

I know I'll be giving up rip/burn time with SVCD or VCD.

What makes you think I don't know your point of the topic?? Your trying to burn a dvd so it will play on your stand alone samsung dvd player.

DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter will do this. The reason why I said this is because I used to have Roxio 6. The thing I noticed about Roxio is it won't play on too many things.

Try Shrink w/ Decrypter and different media. Is your player an older model?? It might just be your samsung can't read +/-R(RW)

(Quoite Hi all,
I am using DVD X Copy Platinum with Memorex DVD+R disc's and I'm having a problem with playback on my Samsung DVD Player). What kind of problem with the play back are you having what is it doing or what is it not doing? Do you just have the problem on a home DVD player or is it the same on the computer? People want help but don't tell us anything we need to know to help them. Why make helping you harder? By not telling people what the hole problem is or what programs you using when burning your not going to get as much help and it makes us post about everything we can think of because don't know what your problem is. I do not help anyone anymore in-less these things are posted and a lot of people feel the same way if your going to make it harder for us why bother right? When you take in your car to get worked on do you just say it don't run no you tell them what you where doing when it happened and explain the problem. Why would it be any different when your having a problem with burning DVDs. I need help dvd wont play what dose that tell us nothing. Try to explain more. Thanks

The only stupid questions are the ones you don't ask. If you don't ask you will never know.

See, I am NEW to this forum so explaining all of the technical stuff as I'm learning it is overwhelming.

Found out that my Samsung model that stated NOT playing DVD +/-R discs does in fact. However, it won't play DVD RW. AND, discs burned with DVD X Copy seem to skip. If burned with DVD Shrink, or DVD Decrypter then the movies play great.

Took me a while to experiment but that's the whole point right.

And thanks for clearing up my problem with an analogy, xbadboy2. By the way....

it's WHOLE not hole
and DOES not DOSE.

Thanks again....

Dvd x copy is not all made up to what it is meant to be and fails on many system.I would recomend you check your media first then scrap your software if not the media.I use dvd one2one clone dvd smart ripper DVD Shrink Nero dvd which are all excellent software packages.321 seems to be an easy way around backing up your film's but in my opinion you get more for a little extra work.
